Materials

2.5 mm hook -> my go to and absolute favourite crochet hooks are these Japanese Tulip Etimo Rose crochet hooks. I use them all the time!

Number 2 Schachenmayr Catania in the colours dark blue, grey and white

Stuffing -> i use this poly-fil stuffing, i recommend getting a larger amount, because in my experience it's used up fairly quickly

rattle tins or rattle balls (the balls max: 2 cm diameter)

Yarn needle -> i recommend get them in several sizes, with a blunt tip (so you don't split the yarn). You will need them very often in amigurumi: the bigger ones for sewing your pieces together and the smaller ones are perfect for embroidery or sewing smaller pieces.

Scissors or cutte-> if you prefer scissors i can really recommend these beautiful high-quality, vintage scissors

OR: If you prefer a cutter - like me - i really recommend this quick to grab yarn cutter

2x2 safety eyes 7 mm  -> i recommend to get them in a set with different sizes

or black embroidery thread

sewing pins -> i recommend getting a bunch of sewing pins, because they tend to get lost or bent a little bit

embroidery needle -> i recommend get them in several sizes, with a blunt tip (so you don't split the yarn). You will need them very often in amigurumi: the bigger ones for sewing your pieces together and the smaller ones are perfect for embroidery or sewing smaller pieces.

stitch markers -> i use these

wooden rings 7 cm outer diameter

Notes

Both rattles are crocheted in continuous spiral rounds. The ears and eye patches are crocheted separately and then sewn on. The half rings on the wooden rings are crocheted in the row without making a turning chain, don't skip the first stitches of each row.

You can find videos about how to do the invisible decrease, the mattress stitch and how to crochet in the row without a turning chain below.

I recommend using yarn in the strength i used and also stick to cotton because of the baby chewing on the rattle. You can heat up the back of the safety eyes and push flat, so they are even safer or substitute them by stitching them on with black embroidery thread. I would recommend handwashing the rattle once before use.

Oh Fall - you are the cosiest time of the year!

You smell like wet leaves on the ground.

You feel like long walks on Sundays.

You look like red, yellow and orange trees glowing in the sun.

You taste like hot chocolate and pumpkin pie.

You are soft like thick socks and warm blankets on the couch

You call for watching all Seasons of Gilmore Girls again.

Oh Fall - you are my favourite time of the year!
